With only a few days left-hand to the upcoming New York Comic Con and everyone buzzing about the guests, the toys, and big announcements about movies (ahem, The Avengers, ahem), we can't neglect doing the most important thing... the comics! Unshakeable, we're all going to be watching for new Dark Knight Rises peacefulness release and sure, Kevin Smith being there is wonderful. But let's talk turkey, folks, let's talk about the comics that are successful to be released at the convention and the comic news that is making us all hum. So here they are, the top five comics I'm looking forward to seeing more about at New York Witty Con 2011.

5. Stack Effect: Invasion #1 by Bioware and Tenebrous Horse ( Read the review here )

Mass More and Mass Effect 2 are such fundamental video daring titles to anyone who loves a well-written story with some calibre alien planet goodness that their impact cannot be unembellished. So when I heard that Bioware was teaming with Dark Horse comics to put out Mass Effect: Invasion, I was right on game table. Plus it's being helmed by one of the writers of Mass Bring about 3? Score a good choice proper off the bat! The comic will follow Aria T'Loak, the self-appointed Queen dowager of the underworld station Omega, as she fights for her bailiwick against all enemies. Beautiful artwork on the cover (contain out the Comic Con cover above) and I'm excited to see how the Bioware/Base Horse partnership creates gorgeous comics together.

Event Report: The 2011 Undead Festival in Asbury Park, New Jersey

The 2011 Undead Feast took place last weekend (October 21-23) in Asbury Deposit, New Jersey, and Dread Central was on the scene. We've returned with an overflowing embodiment gallery and the following day-by-day event report. Announce on to see what you might have missed so you can make your plans to be there next year!

New Jersey is becoming a real melting pot in which we appropriate anything awesome anyone does around the U.S. (or even the planet in some cases). As is the NJ ritual, we see something we like, we make it OURS!! In recent years this has included tube derby, burlesque events, Dr. Sketchy and the all-top-level ZOMBIE WALK. Last year the Asbury Woodland Zombie Walk drew crowds of over 5 thousand awkward undead, all counted by the Guinness Book of Wonderful's Records, shattering the previous record. This year the promoters of this at the time, led by an overworked (but still exhibiting an extreme love for rancour) guy named Jason Meehan, thought it might be a well-proportioned idea to turn the event into a three-day festival celebrating all things rotting, drooling and yearning for brains. Naturally, Dread Central and yours really were all over it.
