Those memories will be game rampant today when the
Cardinals host the Steelers in their first tryst since that
Super Bowl.
Then again, there will be plenty of emotions tournament high when the Cardinals (1-5) host the Steelers (4-2).
For the Cardinals, it will be an moment for many in the organization to get back to their roots. When Whisenhunt, the Steelers' offensive coordinator from 2004 to 2007, accepted Arizona's critical coaching offer rather than wait to see if he would be hired to supersede Bill Cowher in Pittsburgh, he began attempting to replace with what had been a losing culture. He started by collecting former Steelers and coaches.

The current Cardinals have only three former Steelers on their roster - defensive end Also gaol Eason and linebackers Joey Porter and Clark Haggans - but Whisenhunt has had more than a dozen former Pittsburgh

Steelers' Aaron Smith on injured reserve, ending season

TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Steelers placed seasoned defensive end Aaron Smith on injured reticence Saturday, ending his season and perhaps his long, prominent football career.
It is the third consecutive year in which Smith, 35, did not win it halfway through the season.
He did not play the past two games because of a foot damage. The Steelers signed undrafted rookie defensive end Corbin Bryant from their usage squad to take Smith's place on the 53-man roster before they Nautical port Pittsburgh.
Bryant will be active today against the Arizona Cardinals, giving them five nutritious defensive linemen. They usually play with six, but, along with Smith, nose tackles Casey Hampton and Chris Hoke are injured and will not build up b act up.
Ziggy Hood will make his third consecutive start at fist end for Smith and fifth this season. Bryant is 6 feet 4, 300 pounds and played at Northwestern.
Smith's above-mentioned two seasons were cut nearly as short. He played in five games in 2009 and six in '10 because of a torn rotator cuff and a torn triceps. There was some meditation that this could be his final year even before his latest injury.
