X-Men Regenesis Review: Uncanny X-Men #1 By Kieron Gillen And Carlos Pacheco

#1

Written by Kieron Gillen

Art by Carlos Pacheco, Cam Smith, and Truthful D’Armata

While Wolverine and the X-Men features a new rank quo and mission statement for the “Gold Band” books of X-Men, Uncanny is more of a direct continuation from the last problem. Sure, it’s a new number one and it has been freshly branded with the Regenesis repute quo, but it doesn’t feel all too different from what Kieron Gillen had been doing for the last few months. He spends some of the problem establishing just what exactly this book has morphed into, and then he gets justly to the point, and he does so by way of mixing together a plot created by Brubaker and Fraction when the X-Men first moved out west as well as one of my favorite X-villains…Mister Treacherous!

There were no winners or losers in the Schism, well, no, the readers win, but as far as the characters go there is more of a intuition of change. Uncanny X-Men has gone from the ‘president’ title in the line to sharing that with Wolverine and the X-Men, which means that it no longer is the paramount feature book. What it seems to be turning into is the ‘big disturbance’ book, the team that deals with the exultant shattering threats that the X-Men have been known to deal with. The turn in of Mister Sinister is probably the best way to go about this, as he’s a villain more than skilful of going big, something he definitely does in this issue. This volume is all about scope, and Gillen seems prepared to go bigger than Uncanny has been in years.

X-Men Episode #03 – Armor Anime Review

While the early previously to episode had some very good moments, it also had the U-Men which really didn’t exertion all that well for me. But what it ended with definitely worked very well as they showed the manipulations universal on with mutants in the area and that Emma Frost herself has been captured and placed in hibernation. With her being one of the four members of the Inner Fraternity and known as the White Queen, she’s protracted been one of the better if scantily clad villains out there for me. What makes discovering her even more disputable though is that Scott knows she was involved in what caused Jean’s termination, at least from how he viewed events when it went down.

It’s a overwrought discussion about whether to even wake up the powerful telepath and Logan’s even in position to just kill her in her sleep. But when she is awakened, it’s decidedly confusing for all involved. Not only has she supposedly left the Inner Band, citing fellow member Mastermind as charming the group too far and to a point where she didn’t have a yen for to be involved, but she’s also been the one that was helping Hisako originate into her powers. It’s interesting to see her recent over explained with what she did after leaving the Inner Circle, thriving back to being a teacher herself, and ending up meeting Hisako remotely before she went missing. And that brought her to Japan, which got herself caught as well comparable to how Hisako was captured.

Review: Wolverine and the X-Men #10
I've never absolutely been sold on the hype surrounding Wolverine and the X-Men.
