We remember, we know: Every kid hits milestones at his own pace - so, no, you shouldn't bizarre out if yours doesn't follow this guide to a tee. But it might be worth a talk with the doc if you're ill at ease or if baby misses a few biggies.
"If it's just one milestone that your young man is a little behind on, mention it to your pediatrician," says Tanya R. Altmann, MD, architect of "Mommy Calls" (American Academy of Pediatrics, 2008). "But chances are, everything's quite fine. However, if your child isn't hitting multiple milestones across the council - not smiling and not rolling over, for example - then I would be a little more active."
Otherwise, be prepared for the following milestones to happen.
Sleeping Through the Nightfall
When it's likely to happen: Generally, after four months of age, an infant should be expert to sleep at least six to eight hours straight without feeding, says Altmann. And by six months of age, they should be superior to go at least eight to 10 hours without a feeding.

Tipper, 13 months, was the pattern student in calculus class last week. Parked under the desk of Belle Douglass, Tipper was considerate, yet quiet, for the entire hour.
It was a moment that Douglass, 17, had been waiting for. Douglass is raising the yellow Lab to become a sway dog, and for the first time, she could see that Tipper had mastered one of the most crucial skills for a victorious career: endless patience.
"I soup, 'I knew you always had it in you,'" Douglass said. "It proved she can do this."
The Newburyport Drunk School senior is a volunteer raiser for the Eastern Massachusetts ambit of Guiding Eyes for the Blind, an internationally accredited, nonprofit example-dog school. Tipper arrived nearly a year ago at the Douglass' harshly on Greenleaf Street and has since spent every waking hour culture the chops of being a guide dog.
In a few months, Tipper will exchange to the organization's Training Center in Yorktown Heights, N.Y., where she will put in another six months with professional trainers before she — if she passes a series of tests — graduates with a curtain partner.
