Dog's spirit undimmed by age
The first outdated I saw our chocolate Labrador retriever, he was resting on the lower limit of the dog-shelter kennel.
His handsome head lay atop a vague yellow tennis ball.
He abruptly rose from his docile placement as I led him outside to get acquainted.
The energetic 1-year-old, aptly named Woo, never stopped racing after the ball. He was obsessed with the vain sphere that fit snugly in his slobbery mouth.
“Is this the dog for us?” I wondered. “Are we up to the dispute of caring for such an energetic pooch?”
Even though I had researched the bring forth thoroughly, I had some doubts.
Leaving the decision to my hoard, I arrived home the next day to find mangled adoption papers on the cookhouse floor.
That was not a good sign.

Amid the debris, the noise from helicopters and the wailing sirens of crisis vehicles, Ms. Hanley remembers the grief-stricken faces of people searching for missing friends and relatives. She remembers the fa-shocked faces of exhausted police officers, firefighters and other first-responders.
And she remembers how Eli and other remedial programme dogs brought some comfort and emotional prop up to many of them, just by wagging their tails and accepting the pats and hugs of people dealing with the inconceivable aftermath of the worst tragedy any of them had ever experienced.
