Anthony Smith Chapter of DAR recognizes longtime members
The Anthony Smith Chapter NSDAR met Dec. 6, 2011, to reward the following for their years of membership and service in DAR.
Frances Davis Peavy received a 50-year certificate. Dana Sherman Schulze also received her 50 year certificate.
Others receiving 40-year certificates were: Dovie Steed Adams, Betty Bird Bryant, Stevenie Wright Burt, Martha Ford Carswell, Mary Jo McMullen Gorden and Patsy Briggs McGill.
Receiving 30-year certificates were: Elma Cudlipp Alexander, Mary Bunce Benson, Nelwyn Johnson Berry, Kittie Crusty Davis, Letha Loper George, Elizabeth A. Jenkins, Ellen Huber Moreau, Patsy Pyle Nicholson, Beatrice Annette Davis Orynawka, Sarah Jane Brazil Thames, Harriot McKinney Whiddon, Celia Lee Wittliff.
Receiving 25-year certificates were: Lillie Wright Branton, Natalie Gann Crowson, Katherine Andrews Hicks (posthumously), Doris (Dry) Yancy Hinson, Sophie Morris Lenderman, Charla Peavy McCracken, Dorothy Moore Owen, Maurine Childs Parker, Angier Peavy, Melinda McGill Permenter (posthumously), Joy Poland Prendergast, Eloise Brazil Richardson, Joann Burnside Townsend, Maureen McGill Vickery, Sandra Springborn Wagner.
