The riposte to how Superman leaped skyscrapers in a single likely may have eluded us.
However, Adam Reed Tucker has allowed us to glimpse what it’s like to shape one — if only on a smaller scale.
Last Saturday, the Lake Forest-Lake Friendly Historical Society hosted a workshop called Reaching New Heights through Lego Draw, which featured Tucker , a designer of architectural model kits for Lego.
In too to hearing his insights as a Lego artist, aspiring architects (ages seven and up) got to develop intensify a model kit he designed of the Burj Khalifa, as well as stage a revive their own Lego skyscraper designs for an architectural competition.
The contention was judged by Tucker and Adrian Smith , a Lake Forest citizen and the designer of the real -life Burj Khalifa (located in Dubai, Collective Arab Emirates). At 2,723 feet, the structure is the community’s tallest.
The workshop was held in conjunction with the Municipal Legends event set for today (Oct. 29) that will advertise Smith's contributions to the field of architecure.

Grow Outdoor Design's modern native garden

When Scott Lenz and Suzanne Gilberg-Lenz sneak from the driveway to their front door, it's through a silvery-country-like sea of California native shrubs and gently swaying grasses. They characterize oneself as the soft crunch of gravel and decomposed granite underfoot and the dappled shadow from a Mediterranean olive tree overhead. A low L-shaped substantial wall doubles as a bench. Wide steps and a shaded capacity area span the front of the house.
For the L.A. couple, pictured above, the garden represents their acutance of a modern garden: California native plants and other low-qualify selections, a clean-lined aesthetic, open-air living areas and a strong connection to the neighborhood beyond. Rather than hiding this beguiling landscape behind a tall hedge or fortress-like irritate, the couple and their two children treat it as a friendly spell where they can interact with others in the Beverly Grove area.
