It makes Samantha Koos of New Haven a little sad when she hears about children who dont have enough to eat.
So on Saturday morning, the 9-year-old was at Finesse Gathering Church in New Haven along with about 80 others, scooping cupfuls of rice into impressionable bags for Kids Against Hunger.
A nationwide charity based in Minnesota but new to Fort Wayne, Kids Against Yen delivers prepackaged meal kits to impoverished and dearth-stricken areas of the world.
The kits contain rice, textured soy protein, dehydrated vegetables, chicken flavoring and a especial vitamin and mineral mix.
Gary Korpi of New Rely on, Minn., Kids Against Hungers national foreman of satellite operations, calls the kits a procedure for rescuing those suffering from severe malnutrition.
The kits were developed by viands scientists at several Minneapolis-area food companies who were asked by the indulgences founder, Richard Proudfit, to aggregate b regain up with something that would inexpensively sustain a person and could be easily shipped to spots most in want, Korpi said.
