Need help to build a Lego Tank?
My educational institution's robotics group is currently working on a "tank" made from lego Mindstorms. We were planning to use a worm cog-wheel along with motors to power 2 different sets of treads, but we don't recognize how to design the chassis to revolve around the specific motor systems. Help!
If you are current to use 2 motors to power the separate treads, then a unbroken chassis would work fine. By a hair's breadth put your treads lower than the body so there is allowance for the chassis to not hit the floor surface. I recommend building in separate components. Draw together your tracks with all the internal gears on a timber and locked in place with bushings and the push gear protruding from the inside. It would be outwit if you use the triple wide friction pins mounted on dual beams at 2 places for serenely attachment to the main body.
Next shape your chassis with a beam to accept the pins and the period for the drive gear to fit to the worm gearbox on the motor. When constructing components it is always well-behaved to use supporting beams in vertical appointment with 2 plates between beams to give you more strength and so when you liquidate a component, the entire body will not separate.
Search Brickshelf for Technic and tank images for more ideas.

Equal Kreuger put his motorized LEGO Tahickoma tank up on Cuusoo and needs your endorse for the powers that be to notice it. If you're a Ghost in the Exterior fan that should be all that you need to know, but in case you still exigency more motivation, and more »
