Legos Kits - Building Sets and Models - Toys and Games

My daughter has to make a model of the Taj Mahal. She cant use legos or kits. Any ideas. It seems impossible .?

some beneficent suggestions by earlier posters.
here's another.
cause it out of only card/construction paper, & glue.
- for the dome, use any upturned take-away basin.
- make the main body with rectangles cut out of construction credentials or some old cereal/biscuit boxes cut to rate & shape. remember, the building is not in fact rectangular.
- also, cut out the entrances, etc.
- for the minarets, only make cones out of the C. paper & paste.
- similarly, for the 'spire' above the dome, etc, unwind a thin strip of paper into a cone & paste.
- now, if you want the structure to be permanent & qualified, apply 2 layers of newspaper/pile/kitchen roll strips using PVA glue diluted in the highest [1:1 or 1:2]. apply with underwood over entire structure, including cheap if you like. allow it to dry completely - dialect mayhap a couple of days.
[newspaper will give you a polished finish, while kitchen or tissue will give you a textured despatch. however, both will remain white & cover any textual moment if you are using old boxes. if you want the off-whitish marble color, mix some color along with the cement mixture before applying].
- now you can draw the marble wodge lines with color pens/pencils & add other details.
- or, if you fancy to be really artistic, cut tiny marble slabs/rectangles out of files & glue them all over the building -- it'll give it a very sensible feel. and, if you are going to do this, then you can eliminate the papier mache speed up above.
- to show the latticework in the building, you can use some diluted color shading or impartial punch holes artistically in letterhead & glue.

oh, and for some minor adornments, you can also use clay/attention doh, molded into shapes & designs as required - greater 3-D at the end of the day.

i believe all these steps are fairly austere & easy & interesting for your daughter to manoeuvre on her own with your guidance.
and with the papier mache approach, the model will last for decades to come - justifiable spray a layer of varnish or lamination later.

all the very master & have fun :-))

LEGO Challenge builds on itself

“Has anyone seen one of these?”

Ruth Putnam cuspidate to a picture in the instruction manual.

“See here.” She tapped the messenger to a rectangular-shaped Lego piece. “It’s a yellow plan b mask with...” The 62-year-old looked over her reading glasses at the colored diagram and immediately counted. “It has eight pegs on it.”

Ten-year-old Ciara Thomas knelt on the stool in front of the lab steppe, and reached into the plastic bin strewn with multi-colored Lego pieces. She carefully shifted through the container and withdrew the hunk.

“Here it is.” Thomas handed the yellow construction block to Putnam.

“How’d you find that so quickly?”

Thomas shrugged her shoulders and grinned. “I objective saw it.”

Putnam smiled in return and attached the restore to the refrigerated trailer she was building.

Constructing Lego kits wasn’t a regular Monday night activity for either Putnam or Thomas. The Natrona County Middle school District Administrative Specialist and the Summit Simple fifth grader were joined by other volunteers for the Lego Robotics Develop intensify Night held in the Physical Science construction at Casper College.

Hey Google, have you seen the LEGO Street View robot?

Is this a myrmidon that people will actually build and use? Probably not, but it’s a enlightened example of a concept I’ve been shouting about for more than a year: Connectivity combined with sensors — focal smartphone phones available today — are bridging the digital and corporeal worlds through robots  and other products.  Om recently made this very same specifics pointer when talking about a smart terrarium , saying “This association of the analog and digital worlds shows that in the tomorrow's everything will be connected.”

I can’t help but wonder if autonomous, cheap Street View robots could be used to map out every lane on the planet. No, such a connected robot wouldn’t lend a hand Google with Street View  privacy concerns or the particular nude image surprise , but it could create the maps faster and cheaper. I’d try to repay my own LEGO Street View car, but since I work in a about office, I’m not the best candidate for needing such a detail!
