Toy Train Shop Chugs into Lacey
When you sidewalk into All Aboard Trains, you know you’ve entered the workshop of a spot on train enthusiast. An authentic train city with tracks, tunnels, trees and more overtakes the front corner of the department store. The walls are lined with kits, train pieces and accessories.
All Aboard Trains, located at the Village Grassy Shopping Center on Route 9 in Forked River, opened Sunday, Nov. 13 under Barnegat citizen Cary Van Nuis. The store features Lionel trains and other toys.
“I grew up with trains. It was a sideline. We always had trains around the Christmas tree,” he said. “I’ve always been mechanically slanting. [The business] was always in the back of my head.”
Van Nuis began his matter out of his home in May 2005 repairing trains.
“I wanted to elaborate on,” he said. “You can’t do that from your home.”
Van Nuis tolerant of to have a business in Barnegat and was looking for a place in Lacey when he came across the extra space at the shopping center, he said.
Alert after 50 toy cars stolen
Townsman police are warning people to be wary of thieves hawking stolen goods as Christmas presents, after $30,000 good of remote-control cars were stolen from a toy shop.
The thieves cut a big, straight hole in the roller door of Toy Central in Wangara between 6pm on November 2 and 7.25am the next day.
They took about 50 of the expensive-end remote control cars and fled unnoticed.
Wanneroo administer officer in charge Warren Greaney said it was acceptable battery-powered cutters had been used to manufacture the hole, which was big enough for the thieves to fit through.
“With Christmas coming up, we only just want people to keep an eye out for them, if anyone is trying to sell them,” he said.
“They would have needed a van or meagre truck to fit all the boxes in as they were quite large.”
Toy Pre-eminent owner Tony Van Belkom, who has had the Prindiville Move business for only 18 months, said the thieves had worn a skip bin to block sight of their crime.
