Fash Route spoke with Almodovar about the film, the fashions and his large friendship with Gaultier.

On the filmmaker/fashion artist friendship: "I knew of Gaultier’s exertion from the mid-80s. I met him briefly at the mythic Parisian disco Les Bains Douches and then again at an AIDS benefit by the end of the 80s. I was in a Thierry Mugler suitable then, but it was at this benefit that we really started our relationship. I felt very connected to his eclecticism, his wisdom of humour and his natural audacity. We’ve both been called enfants terribles, however, we’ve never looked for smear, it has been the mere result of our spontaneity. Sorority Members Suspended for 80s-Themed Costumes

HATTIESBURG, Be nostalgic for. -- An objectionable wardrobe choice for a 1980s-themed livery party has landed six University of Southern Mississippi students in hot liberally with their sorority.

The national office of Phi Mu sorority has put the girls on probation after the conditions of a photo depicting all the girls in blackface makeup, with several wearing curly-haired wigs.

The girls had dressed up as the Huxtable kindred from the popular 1980s sitcom The Cosby Show for an off-campus cocktail Nov. 9, Southern Miss officials said.

The Hattiesburg American received a reader-submitted photo of the girls in blackface Friday.

"Though it is discharge that these women had no ill intent, it was also clear that they had little cultural awareness or competency, and did not penetrate the historical implication of costuming in blackface," Dean of Students Eddie Holloway said in a information release.

What "probation" means exactly is unclear. Phi Mu Solidarity National President Kris Bridges said Phi Mu does not beat a hasty retreat public specific disciplinary actions entranced against individuals.
