Cute, clever costumes for Halloween
31.12.69
Shopping for stimulating Halloween fashions took us to the
familiar haunts, but we were identified not to fall into the dirty
little trap of adult uniform attire.
It was articulated best by a not-so-young yoke as they
surveyed options. She eyed a feisty sea rover wench costume with a
plunging neckline and micro-mini skirt. He signaled his concurrence
and then in a giddy tone she said, "Let's see how slutty I can
be."
He idea that outfit was pretty slutty, but she was convinced
they could do punter ... so to speak. Who knows where they landed
along the terrifying-sexy spectrum — options are embarrassingly
fertile.
But been-there-done-that comes to mind. There's nothing more
predictable than seeing too much peel on Halloween.
Instead, we tried to offer up a few looks that are engaging,
yet avoid the cliché that Halloween is an excuse to haul someone over the coals like a
girl gone wild. It's not for everyone, but there are options that
oversee to be provocative without requiring mothers to shield the
eyes of immature children when you walk by.

What's Happened to Halloween Costumes?

Are Halloween costumes becoming out of keeping?
While poking around online for a Halloween costume for my mermaid/princess-obsessed daughter I kept stumbling on outfits that I mentation had way too little material and way too much intended sex appeal.
They reminded me of an old SNL sketch where a consumer anchorwoman (Jane Curtin) interviews a nefarious toymaker (Dan Aykroyd) about his hilariously unsafe Halloween costumes including the fake-bag and rubber-band combo marketed as Johnny Seat Commander and the Invisible Pedestrian costume that includes a perfidious suit, gloves and mask.
While none of the sexy princess costumes would trigger a chain of events that would light a kid in the emergency room, they sure were inappropriate.
Ive been noticing that for adults too, fascinating costumes are becoming more pervasive. The other day, I saw an ad for a costume contest that included a sphere for sexiest along with the usual scariest and most creative.
