Avoiding sexy costumes for kids

(CNN) -- I have no position why my 3-year-old wants to be a cowboy for Halloween this year, because she won't identify me. That's OK. I don't need to know her reasoning to make it befall.
Thanks to her outdoorsy grandparents who live in the Colorado mountains, we already have the cowboy hat and handkerchief. We found a lofty pair of overalls on sale for $1.69 at the nearby Salvation Army store. But we still needed a cowboy jacket, a waffle shirt and boots. And whatever else might make her look like a 3-foot understanding of a cowboy.
Entering a temporary Halloween hold that popped up in our town, I headed to the kids' garments section. The little girls' costumes seemed odd to me -- so many minute skirts attached to superheroes and vampires. Even if I could find a cowgirl outfit among all the girly-girl stuff, my girl would indubitably find a cowgirl skirt pointless. How would she ride her toy horse with a skirt? Sidesaddle?
As I turned toward to the boys' component to continue the search for accessories, I saw the costume that horrified me more than any vampire or ghost: the little black tee off on someone a put on dinner.

Keeps updating its interactive area and map on occupations across USA.
10:20 I love this. David Brooks took another swipe at OWS today in column (see below), Now Paul Krugman has, in a sly way, responded. The NYT has a rule or protocol of now allowing its staff pundits to criticize colleagues. So Krugman gets around it by using Dean Baker as commencement for rebuttal of Brooks, even though Krugman does not name him. Talented.
10:15 Bob Kuttner at American Prospect backs OWS in new "Grouse and Possibility" piece.... Talented local piece on OccupyTulsa... Still waiting for OccupyPawnee. Ron Swanson an superb camper.
10:10 Tom Morello, who has occupied about half a dozen U.S. sites (and Vancouver) now heading for London today.
10:05 Only hurt radio report that Michael Jackson is the top apathetic one-percenter, "you can't take it with you," etc. Wouldn't Steve Jobs top him now?
