How to properly shape a long wig into a shorter length?

I have an budget-priced (about $2-3) long black wig. I want to cut it shorter and add bangs, which it does not have. Should I cut the bangs from the braids (like a regular person's fraction) or attach it with glue or some other adhesive?

Gluing them in would rightful be a mess. Cut them from the hair. However, cutting organize across with look very flat. Some tricks to inhibit this include cutting very, very slowly (a twist did this. It took her 5 minutes to trim one pint-sized part of my wig). Instead of just snipping away, good close your scissors so slowly that they're just moving. Another way to make it look more everyday is to take a straight razor (like the kinds found in advantage parlors) and use it to layer.
