How do people get masquerade masks to stay on?

I was conclusion about collecting masquerade masks for the fun of it, but I was wondering: How DO they keep them on?
I mean, sometimes it doesn't look like it's tied on and sometimes it's not on a bind to hold up to your face. I was wondering if there was some other way that people tolerant of to keep them on or if it was always one of those two.


there is normally a stick sticking out at the bottom of the mask that they hide, or they just hold the mask up to their expression. *no string to tie on the back of the head...*

Mystic Masquerade Oct. 28 at Ohana Pier in Slidell
