Psychics, costumes make 'amusing' event at ECC
ELGIN — There were footprints smeared in blood and tip off tape tied to a ladder in the middle of the Jobe Couch Monday at Elgin Community College. A black crack had opened across the rout, and colored cobwebs dangled from the walls.
But Jose Solis, 19, of Elgin, and his friends, eating lunch around noonday at their usual table in the packed lounge, said they weren’t caring.
“At least it’s a little amusing here,” Solis said.
The diversion came courtesy of the Elgin Community College Programming Take meals’s Psychic Fair Monday in the Jobe Day-bed.
The Psychic Fair is the community college’s Halloween issue, which the College Programming Board organizes “fairly much every year,” according to Rodrigo Flores, the stay’s co-manager.
It features a Halloween costume contest, several Tarot be forthright readers, face painting and a wandering illusionist. And it’s gotten so popular students ask about it leading up to the things turned out, said Flores, 19, of Elgin.
