About Town: Rosalie Whyel's Passion For Dolls More Than Child's Play

Rosalie Whyel famed the 19th anniversary of the Rosalie Whyel Museum of Doll Art by playing with dolls. That’s the wealthiest part of sharing her extensive collection of dolls, toys, miniatures, and recorded clothing with the public. She plays with fun things every day.
Alas, the museum at 1116 108th Ave. NE in Bellevue won’t hallow a 20th anniversary. Whyel of Bellevue will close the museum Parade 1, 2012. The Victorian-style, 13,500 even foot building is for sale.
Whyel fixed to close so she could spend more time with her family and seven grandchildren. Several years of low gathering contributed to the decision.
“Museums all over the world have seen a wane in visitors since 9-11,” she said. “There are 13 fewer doll museums now than there were three years ago.”
There were 45,000 visitors to the museum the first year it was yawning. She thought that was pathetic at the time. Last year’s gate was 10,000.

What happened was they went back to Phil’s mansion and he didn’t desire them to leave. I guess he did pull a gun on him and told him, “Seclude up, sit down and get up when I tell you to leave.” After I joined the bandeau and we were recording the album, he never pulled out a gun. He went to his mansion and he was a beneficial host, but he wanted us to stay until 4 or 5 in the morning and we had to be at the studio at noonday the next day. I guess he was just lonely and wanted people there. He kept the door locked with a skeleton key so you couldn’t get out. We at best wanted to work with Phil, mainly me and Joey. We dearest the records he produced. He’s the most famous American maker in the world, no doubt. I was friends with him until he went away. [Spector is serving 19 years to soul in California in connection with the shooting death of actress Lana Clarkson in 2003.] He had guns in the studio, though. They were there, but he never apiculate them at us. If a gun went off and killed or wounded one of us, then he wouldn’t have had a stripe to produce.
