Drug references, intense violence and more detailed for Payday: The Heist

This is a first-person shooter in which players fancy the role of a career criminal who participates in sybaritic-stakes heists. As players execute each misdeed (e.g., bank robberies, armored car hijackings), they use prime mover guns and explosives to kill human enemies—including police officers, agents, and gage guards. The frenetic firefights are accompanied by hard-nosed gunfire, explosions, and screams of pain. Munificent blood-splatter effects occur when characters are snort, and blood stains are often depicted on the ground and nearby environment. Some missions require players to take civilians captive, and players have the ability to shoot civilians—though success these characters is penalized and may impede players' move up. The game contains occassional drug references (e.g., “Let's twig into our roles in this little drug deal parody . . . those junkies won't know what hit 'em until it's too late.”), as well as pharmaceutical-related imagery (e.g., a poster with a marijuana leaf; a chart filled with bags of white powder). The words “f**k,” “sh*t,” and “c*cksucker” can be heard in the huddle.

A Golden Touch Turns Leaden

Mr. Paulson made more than $15 billion for his hedge funds by betting on the go bankrupt of the mortgage-backed securities market in 2007 and 2008, then followed up with an equally well-timed bet that in a body banks would survive the financial crisis and that the bonus of gold would soar. Last year he personally earned what has been estimated as the largest put payday in Wall Street history: $4.9 billion.

The media branded him the man with the Midas have reference to. Institutional and individual investors rushed to give him their wherewithal, eagerly paying management fees of 2 percent together with 20 percent of any gains, and pushed his funds’ assets earlier this year to $38 billion. In September, Forbes ranked him 17th on its listing of the 400 richest Americans, with an estimated net significance of $15.5 billion. The man-who-could-do-no-wrong embarked on 2011 with self-assured predictions that a global economic recovery would stiffen, inflationary pressures would push gold to new highs and pecuniary institutions would prosper.
