"This is frightening!" cried a small voice over the putt-putt of the tractor's apparatus as it rounded the corner outside the Learning Tree Infant Development Center on Admiral Cochrane Effort. The daycare center and preschool, founded in 1994, held its first Subside Festival last week.
The staff members and guardian volunteers who ran the various activity stations seemed to have as much fun as the kids on the ardent and sunny fall day.
While some students made necklaces out of colored pasta, others were flying ear-splitting in the moon bounce or getting their faces painted. Those who tried found out it's a lot harder than it looks to eat a doughnut suspended on a wreath (but it makes for some funny photos).
There was also a bean bag fling, pumpkin decorating, spinning wheel and fishing field, to name a few. McGruff the Crime Dog circulated through the happy throng giving out high fives and sharing tips on playing it satisfactory courtesy of the Anne Arundel County Oversee Department. A number of area businesses and restaurants also donated to the exertion.
