WPS shuts down magicJack

In a move that many expected, WPS terminated the franchise rights to the South Florida-based magicJack line-up on October 27. Unlike the other four teams that have folded for economic reasons during the past three years—Los Angeles Sol, FC Gold Self-admiration (San Francisco Bay Area), St. Louis Athletica and Chicago Red Stars—magicJack was jettisoned by the federation to put an end to the turmoil caused by magicJack’s owner Dan Borislow.

Police Finally Charge 60 for Vancouver Riots

It only took four and a half months, but the Vancouver boys in blue have finally laid charges against 60 people suspected of rioting after the Vancouver Canucks choked big just the same from time to time in the Stanley Cup final on June 15. A total of 163 charges were pressed against the five dozen rioters, with the largeness of the charges being for participating in a riot, along with a smattering of condition and enters, arsons, and assaults just to condiment things up a little. Police Chief Jim Chu said this is at most the first batch of charges, and that they believe some 700 people will ultimately be facing a total of 15,000 charges for the locate-game riot. The make-up of the suspects so far suggests the largeness of them weren't actually from Vancouver, as 21 of the 60 came from nearby Surrey, nine came from Maple Ridge, two from Abbotsford, two from Delta, and the slumber coming from all over B.C. and one from Seattle. Twelve of the suspects were Vancouverites. Chu deflected evaluation over the time it took to lay charges, saying that being conscientious for the city's largest ever criminal investigation was possibly worth the extra time.
